A Different World Ch. 3

*Jasliene*

"Really, you can't hide your feelings for ever Jasliene." He said as he climbed through my window. I looked at him weird. Longshot confused me some times.

"Hide my feelings for what?" I said as I got up from my bed and put my guitar back in the black hole I call a closet.  The others all but Bee and Longshot had left.

"Wow. What I'm saying is," He leaned against the wall. "stop hiding that you like, no, love Jet! We all know it!" I got wide eyed. What I always did when I got nervous.

"What ARE you talking about?! Me and Jet?! We've known each other since we were in diapers!" I stood up and got in his face.

"Really, Longshot. We are not together and never will be! Even if I did like him like that," I turned to hide my red face. "it wouldn't make a difference. He likes the preppy girly-girls that only talk about hair and, dare I say it, skirts." I shuddered, I HATED skirts and pink.
"If you haven't noticed, I am not that type of girl." by this time my eyes were filled with tears, but they couldn't see them considering I still had my back turned. Crying wasn't my thing but once you brought up me and Jet together it was like a tear switch turned on.

I did and still do love him. But there is no way on the face of this planet that I would ever  get together with him. I've saw him break many hearts and get the crap beat out of him by older brothers. Still, no way. I'm not getting my heart broken by my best friend.

"Hey, calm down I was just………….." he stepped forward and reach his hand out to touch my shoulder. I didn't give him a chance. I spun around.

"What? Just what? I don't EVER want to hear ANY of you mention me and Jet together again." Now they saw the tears cause there was no holding them back. They were streaming down my face and my voice was shaky.

"I don't understand. Why do you do this? We want the best for you two and being together is the best." Now he had his hand on my shoulder.

"Because, because I love him too much to hurt him and I'm afraid he will hurt me. That's why, I can't tear this family apart like all of ours was, I am  not causing my family pain." My voice was very shaky this time, I just broke down. They both saw how broken I was.

"Can we do anything?" Bee said as she stepped up off the bed. I shook my head.

"There's nothing that can take the pain away. Nothing." I dropped to my knees and sat there. Then I herd a car in  the drive.

*Jet*

"Finally," I thought to myself, "I  finally get to see her again." I rubbed the old tattered picture with my thumb. It was Jasliene, and me. It was right before her parents were killed.

"Jet……..Jet……Jet!" Ty-Lee screamed in my ear. She was driving me home.

"Yea?" I said turning to her.

"Quit obsessing over that picture and pay attention. How much farther?" She had never been to the house, and Jasliene an' the others had never met her. I met her in collage she was studying to be a hair stylist or something along the lines of that. I really didn't know her that well, we just started dating so I thought I would introduce her to the Freedom Fighters.

Holy crap. I have just made a huge mistake. Jasliene can't stand girls that can't stand up for them selves, are obsessive over how they look and likes pink. And I'm bringing one home. I ran my fingers through my hair and said in a whisper,

"Man, she is going to kill me."

"What?" Ty-Lee said as she turned her head toward me.

"Nothing Ty-Lee. Pull in at the next drive." I pointed to our driveway, she pulled in and I had the door open before she could stop the car. I ran toward the door and stopped in the middle of the yard. Jasliene opened the door, she saw me and smiled. She ran and basically glomped me. Except I didn't fall but I stumbled. I wrapped my arms around her waist and she squeeze me tighter. Then she said something I have always loved to hear.

"I missed you." I could tell she was crying but I knew they were happy tears. I tightened my grip on her.

"Hey, I said I missed you I didn't say you could squeeze the breath out of me." I loosened my grip and we were apart. The others ran out. Now I was glomped. I was laughing the whole time,

"Don't kill me!" I yelled as they stood up, I just realized I forgot all about Ty-Lee. Too late. Jasliene had already spotted her.

"And who the Hell are you?" yea, she doesn't welcome strangers that drive Mercedes that well.

"Her name is Ty-Lee." I said brushing off my shirt. "She's my girlfriend"  Jasliene stiffened and her fist gripped, then her knuckles turned white.

By now I knew I was in for a hell of a ride.
